Application of SpECtop PU500 involves a series of essential steps to ensure optimal performance and durability:
Surface Preparation:
Surfaces to be treated must be dry, sound, free from oil or other contaminants, loosely adhering coatings, laitance, and dust.
Mixing:
SpECtop PU500 is supplied as a two-component kit consisting of a base component and a curing agent. Both components should be briefly stirred to ensure that any settlement products are fully suspended. The most convenient method of mixing is using a slow-speed, heavy-duty electric drill. Empty the entire contents of the curing agent into the base component and mix for at least five minutes until the material appears uniform in color and consistency.
Application Method:
The mixed product should either be applied directly on the tack-free primer or the prepared surface, depending on system requirements. The application may be done using a squeegee, roller, or brush, with a thickness between 200 and 500μm.
Temperature Considerations:
Temperatures should not fall below 5°C during the first 24 hours after application. The product should not be applied if material and/or floor temperatures exceed 35°C.
Cleaning of Equipment:
Clean tools and equipment with SpECtop Cleaning Fluid before the product has cured to maintain efficiency and ease of use.
