The SpECtite Elastobond application process is crucial for achieving a durable and effective waterproof membrane. Here’s how to properly apply this product:

All surfaces that will receive the SpECtite Elastobond coating must be free from oil, grease, wax, dirt, or any other foreign matter that may affect adhesion. Any spalled or deeply disintegrated concrete should be removed, and areas repaired using the Concrete Repair System.

Pour the liquid concentrate from the plastic drum into a suitable container (approximately 30 litres). Mix mechanically with a slow-speed drill (350-450 rpm). Gradually add the powder component to the liquid while avoiding lump formation and mix for 4-5 minutes until a smooth, consistent mix is obtained. Use the material within the recommended pot life.

Dampen the surface before applying SpECtite Elastobond. Sweep away any excess water to prevent ponding on horizontal surfaces. Apply the properly mixed product with a short bristle brush or trowel at a Wet Film Thickness (WFT) of 0.5mm. A minimum of two coats is required for optimal properties.

Allow the first coat to dry for 2-4 hours before applying the second coat. The direction of application for the two coats should be perpendicular to each other to ensure maximum effectiveness.

SpECtite Elastobond is available in 16kg two-part packs. A complete mixed pack will cover approximately 10.7m² at 0.8mm WFT and 8.4m² at 1mm WFT, depending on the substrate profile.
