Application of SpECcell Polyethylene 40
SpECcell Polyethylene 40 is a compressible joint filler utilized in various construction applications to form and fill expansion joints. Its versatility and performance make it suitable for both concrete and blockwork installations.
In Concrete:
SpECcell Polyethylene 40 can be placed against formwork on the concreting side prior to pouring the first section of concrete. It remains in place upon removal of the formwork, allowing subsequent pours to be cast directly against the board. Afterward, the board is cut back to create the sealing slot needed for joint sealing.
In Blockwork and Brickwork:
During the laying of brick or blockwork, SpECcell Polyethylene 40 should be installed so that a sealing slot of the required dimensions is formed. This ensures proper functionality during the curing process and enhances the integrity of the joints.
Additional Applications:
The product may also serve as a back-up support for sealants, as well as a bond breaker for sealants applied over bituminous joint fillers, further extending its usability across different construction scenarios.
