Application of SpECbuild MRA
SpECbuild MRA is designed for easy and effective application on various formwork materials to ensure optimal performance during concrete casting. The following guidelines should be followed for successful application:
Method of Application:
SpECbuild MRA should be applied using a knapsack spray unit, with the nozzle set to produce a fine, even mist over the formwork. Alternatively, for small sections of the formwork, it can be applied using a fine-haired paint brush.
Timing of Application:
To achieve the best results, the product should be applied:
– Before the first casting of concrete.
– Immediately after stripping and cleaning the moulds for subsequent castings.
Surface Preparation:
It is essential that the formwork is clean and free from dust and airborne contaminants prior to application. This will enhance the bonding of SpECbuild MRA with the surface.
Avoid Ponding:
Care must be taken to avoid ponding of the product on the surface. Any excess SpECbuild MRA should be removed gently with a dry cloth or sponge to prevent adverse effects on the concrete finish.
Environmental Considerations:
When applying in enclosed environments, ensure adequate ventilation to maintain safety standards. Avoid prolonged contact with skin and eyes.
