All surfaces to which SpECtite Swellseal Bentobar is to be applied should be clean and free of standing water. Any loose or flaking concrete must be removed. The preferred practice of scabbling joints is recommended to ensure a smooth and stable application surface.
Application Steps:
Uncoil a length of SpECtite Swellseal Bentobar and apply it onto the concrete surface, ensuring that it is positioned inside the reinforcement cage with a minimum concrete cover of 75mm. Press the material firmly into place to cover any surface undulations.
In vertical installations, work from the base up to prevent any deformation or elongation during the process. It is essential to avoid overlapping the pieces. Cut the ends of adjoining lengths with a sharp tool to ensure a clean and square cut, and press them together for a close butt joint.
Fixing:
To secure SpECtite Swellseal Bentobar in place, use nailing guns with nails spaced approximately 300mm apart for proper fixation.
