Product FAQ

SpECcord is typically used in joints for concrete, blockwork, and brickwork, as well as in precast panels made from GRC and GRP. It is also suitable for metal cladding panels, aluminium and concrete structures, non-structural glazing, floor and roof joints with cold applied sealants, and door and window frames.

To install SpECcord correctly, first select the appropriate diameter, which should be about 25% larger than the joint width for a tight fit. Next, push-fit the cord into the sealing slot using a blunt tool to avoid causing any damage. Ensure any required primer is applied and dried before installation. Finally, maintain sufficient depth for the sealant as advised by the sealant manufacturer. Avoid cutting the cord to ensure optimal performance.

SpECcord is available in diameters of 6mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 40mm, and 50mm.

SpECcord offers several advantages, including cost-effectiveness, non-hazardous properties, easy installation, excellent absorption, good chemical resistance, and it acts as a bond breaker to eliminate three-way sealant adhesion. Additionally, it is not impaired by climatic extremes and provides minimum strain shape for sealants, ensuring reliable performance in various sealing applications.

SpECcord is compatible with concrete, blockwork, brickwork, GRC, GRP, metal cladding panels, and door and window frames when using cold applied sealants.

The application temperature range for SpECcord is 5°C to 45°C.
