Product FAQ

DOWSIL 895 can adhere to coated, enameled, reflective glasses, polyester coated aluminum profiles, and stainless steel profiles.
The temperature range for DOWSIL 895 is -50°C to +150°C.
To properly apply DOWSIL 895, first clean all joints and glazing pockets to remove contaminants. Install backing materials and setting blocks as specified. Apply the sealant in a continuous operation using positive pressure to fill the joint completely. Tool the sealant with slight pressure within 5 minutes of application for a clean finish. Mask adjacent areas if necessary, and remove masking tape immediately after tooling. For optimal results, conduct application within the recommended temperature and humidity conditions.
DOWSIL 895 cures at room temperature through exposure to moisture in the air. Ideal conditions are 5°C to 40°C temperature and 40% to 95% humidity, with a recommendation of 15°C to 30°C for optimal performance.
The joint size for DOWSIL 895 should typically be between 6 mm and 15 mm, determined by structural calculations to accommodate thermal and dynamic movements.
DOWSIL 895 is CE Marked (ETA 01/0005) as a structural glazing sealant component according to ETAG002 and meets various European standards, including PrEN13022 and SNJF VEC. It also complies with French VOC regulations and has passed multiple environmental and safety certifications such as EMICODE EC1 Plus and BREEAM International.
