SpECgrout C2 is designed for a variety of grouting applications, ensuring maximum efficacy and reliability in the construction environment. The following sections outline the application procedures and necessary preparations to achieve optimal results:
Preparation:
It is essential that adequate preparation is carried out prior to the application of SpECgrout C2. This preparation should ensure the removal of all grease, oil, and loose material from the substrate. To avoid absorption and reduction in flow characteristics, the prepared substrate must be soaked with clean water for several hours before grouting. Any remaining water on the surface should be removed by blowing it clean with oil-free compressed air.
Base Plate Cleanliness:
The underside of the base plate to be grouted should be clean, with any oil or grease completely removed. Ideally, the underside should not have any geometry that would impede grout flow. If necessary, air release holes should be drilled through the base plate to prevent air trapping, which could reduce the total contact area.
Formwork Preparation:
All formwork should be sealed to prevent the loss of grout during pouring. It should be tight to the base plate and aligned with the direction of flow. Ensure there is a gap of around 100mm at the pouring hopper and a gap of approximately 50mm at the opposite end. Proper planning is critical to ensure sufficient grout is available for a continuous placement.
Mixing and Pouring:
After mixing, SpECgrout C2 should be poured immediately, ideally from the hopper end of the formwork. It is crucial not to pour from more than one side of the base plate to maintain fluid head and avoid air entrapment. Following the completion of grouting, all exposed areas must be cured immediately using SpECcure WE curing membrane to ensure optimal performance.
SpECgrout C2 is available in convenient packaging for ease of handling and application:
SpECgrout C2 is supplied in 25kg bags. Each bag, when mixed with the specified amount of water, will yield approximately 12 liters of mixed material, depending on the water addition.

Product FAQ

The recommended application temperature range is 5°C to 35°C.
SpECgrout C2 is typically used for applications including anchor bolts, precast units, crane rails, turbines, generators, pressing and milling machines, and filling holes due to formwork ties.
To prepare the substrate for SpECgrout C2, ensure all grease, oil, and loose material are completely removed. Soak the prepared surface with clean water for a few hours before grouting and remove any excess water using oil-free compressed air. The surface should be clean to maximize grout adhesion and performance.
To mix SpECgrout C2, use a slow-speed electric drill fitted with a SpECgrout mixing paddle. Measure the recommended water quantity (5.5 to 7.25 liters per 25kg bag) in a graduated vessel and add it to the mixer. Gradually add the bagged powder while mixing. Ensure a mixing time of at least five minutes for proper ingredient dispersion. For larger quantities, consider using a grout pump for efficient mixing and application.
To mix SpECgrout C2, you will need a slow-speed electric drill fitted with a SpECgrout mixing paddle. For larger quantities, consider using a grout pump for efficient mixing.
The recommended water-to-grout ratio for SpECgrout C2 is 5.5 to 7.25 liters of water per 25kg bag for achieving plastic or flowable consistency.
