The SpECtite DPR6 is designed for versatile application across various substrates. The following outlines the application guidelines for optimal results:
Surface Preparation:Concrete surfaces must be clean, sound, and free from oil, grease, dirt, dust, and loose particles. It is desirable to dampen the surface with water if the concrete or block work is dry.
Metal surfaces must be wire brushed to remove loose rust, mill scale, etc. Wipe off oil and grease from the surface with a suitable solvent.
It is recommended to use a primer coat of SpECtite DPR6 Primer at the rate of 0.1 to 0.25 kg/m² to ensure proper bonding of subsequent coats.
Method of Application:
Apply a minimum of two coats of SpECtite DPR6 using a brush or broom.
Each coat should be applied at right angles to the previous one to obtain proper coverage and uniformity.
The first coat must be fully dry before the subsequent coat is applied. Normal drying time is between 1 to 4 hours. In conditions of high humidity and cold weather, this may extend up to 12 hours or more.
If required, blind the final coat with clean sharp sand while it is tacky to improve heat resistance and prevent premature aging and atmospheric degradation.
