Application
Preparation:
It is essential that adequate preparation is carried out prior to the application of SpECtop CPD Primer SF. Ensure that the surface is free from laitance, dust, algae, oil, and grease. Grit blasting is recommended to achieve optimal surface conditions for bonding.
Mixing:
SpECtop CPD Primer SF is supplied as a two-component kit, consisting of a base component and a curing agent. Before mixing, both components should be briefly stirred to ensure any settled products are fully suspended. The entire contents of the curing agent should be emptied into the base component, and the materials should be mixed using a suitable slow-speed drill and mixing paddle for 2 minutes until uniform. Scrape the sides of the tin to remove all material and continue mixing for an additional 2 minutes.
Application Method:
The mixed product may be applied by brush, roller, or trowel. Care should be taken to ensure an unbroken coating is achieved. One coat should be applied and allowed to gel. The theoretical consumption rate is approximately 5 m²/litre.
Application Temperature Range:
– Minimum: 5°C
– Maximum: 35°C
Note: When applying in temperatures below 15°C, it is recommended to store the material in an environment above this temperature to improve mixing and application characteristics. If working in confined areas, use sealed respiratory equipment for safety.
