SpECcoat PE145 requires proper application techniques to ensure optimal performance. The following guidelines should be followed for effective application:
Preparation:
It is essential that adequate preparation is carried out prior to the application of SpECcoat PE145. For concrete and steel surfaces, grit blasting is recommended. Steel surfaces should be prepared to bright metal standard, ensuring the removal of old coatings, laitance, grease, and oil. Any imperfections or ‘blow holes’ should be filled using SpECcoat BC.
Application Method:
SpECcoat PE145 may be applied by brush, roller, or airless spray. The first coat should be worked well into the surface. The top coat should then be applied within 24 hours. Any condensation that has formed on the first coat should be wiped off before applying the second coat. It is crucial that the application produces an even coverage without pinholes.
Equipment Cleaning:
SpECcoat PE145 should be removed from tools and equipment with SpECcoat Cleaning Fluid immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Health and Safety Considerations:
It is essential to provide adequate ventilation during the application process and avoid inhaling vapors produced. Personal protective equipment should be utilized, especially in confined areas.
SpECcoat PE145 is available in the following packaging options:
4.5 litres and 15 litres
