Surface Preparation:
For best results, ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry, sound, and free from grease. Non-porous surfaces should be cleaned with DOWSIL™ R-40 Universal Cleaner or methylated spirits, and thoroughly dried with a clean, oil and lint-free cloth before applying the sealant.
Application Guidelines:
– The sealant should be applied within the recommended temperature ranges. – No primer is required for most surfaces; however, conducting an adhesion test is advised on acrylic baths.
Tooling and Finishing:
The joint should be tooled within 5 minutes of application to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish. For neat applications, adjacent areas may be masked with tape prior to sealing.
