  • Grouting gaps between 75mm and 500mm thick.
  • Filling voids under machine base plates.
  • Grouting around and beneath ground tanks.
  • Large bolt pockets and supports.
  • Applications requiring low permeability and high fluidity.

SpECgrout C3 offers a range of benefits that enhance its performance and suitability for various construction applications:

  • Unique non-metallic shrinkage compensation system providing maximum contact between baseplate and hardened grout.
  • Extremely high flow characteristics with excellent retention of flow.
  • Suitable for placing by pump, ensuring versatility in application.
  • Extremely low permeability, enhancing durability and longevity.
  • High compressive strength at early stages allowing minimal downtime on machinery.

SpECgrout C3 is engineered to meet high-performance standards in construction applications. Below are the key technical specifications:

Property Value
Compressive strength (BS EN 12390-3) 3 Days: 45±5 N/mm²
7 Days: 55±5 N/mm²
28 Days: 70±5 N/mm²
Setting time (BS EN 196-3) Initial set: 2 hours @ 25°C
Final set: 2.5 hours @ 25°C

Application

Preparation:
The substrate must be clean and completely free from contaminants including greases, oil, and loose material. To avoid absorption and reduction in flow characteristics, it is essential that the prepared substrate is soaked with clean water for a few hours prior to grouting. Prior to placing the grout, any water remaining on the surface should be removed by blowing clean with oil-free compressed air.

Base Plate Cleaning:
The underside of the base plate to be grouted should be clean and any oil or grease MUST be removed. The underside should preferably have no geometry that would impede the flow of grout. Should cruciforms be present, it is essential that air release holes are drilled through the base plate to avoid trapping air, thus reducing the total contact area.

Formwork:
All formwork should be sealed to prevent loss of grout during pouring. The formwork should be tight to the base plate and parallel to the direction of flow. A gap of around 100mm is required at the pouring hopper with a gap of around 50mm at the opposite end.

Pouring Procedure:
Mixed product should always be poured from the hopper end of the formwork. On no account should grout be poured from more than one side of the base plate. Maintenance of a fluid head is essential to avoid air entrapment.

Curing:
Once the grouting has been completed, all exposed areas of grout should be cured immediately using SpECcure AC curing membrane.

Packaging:
SpECgrout C3 is supplied in 25kg sealed polyethylene bags. Each bag should be measured in an accurately graduated vessel.

Warranty:

Product FAQ

SpECgrout C3 is suitable for grouting gaps between 75mm and 500mm thick, filling voids under machine base plates, grouting around and beneath ground tanks, large bolt pockets, and applications requiring low permeability and high fluidity.
To mix SpECgrout C3, add the specified amount of clean water (3.0 to 3.3 liters per 25kg bag) to a clean mixing vessel. Slowly add the grout powder while using a slow-speed electric drill with a suitable mixing paddle. Mix for a minimum of five minutes to ensure thorough dispersion of ingredients. The grout should be poured immediately after mixing, and not more than 20 minutes after completion.
The recommended water-to-powder ratio is 3.0 to 3.3 litres per 25kg bag.
The compressive strength of SpECgrout C3 is 45±5 N/mm² at 3 days, 55±5 N/mm² at 7 days, and 70±5 N/mm² at 28 days.
Once grouting is completed, all exposed areas of SpECgrout C3 should be cured immediately using SpECcure AC curing membrane to ensure optimal performance and durability.
The setting time for SpECgrout C3 is 2 hours for initial set and 2.5 hours for final set at 25°C.
